Episode 3: The Art of Contentment, Hope, & September VOGUE

In this episode, I reflect on contentment and shares laughs with childhood friend & homemaker, Hope Frazier, as they discuss manifesting the life that you want.

This week's fashion news includes: Vogues September covers and 15% diversity pledge, the influx of celebrity beauty brands, and Governor Cuomo's fashion week announcement.

I am choosing to not only be content but to celebrate my journey! We all know that life has its highs and lows, but who else can relate to not fully being present in the highs because you’re so afraid that something will go wrong again, or that it’s too good to be true? We have no choice but to ride out our lows, so we might as well embrace our highs for all of the goodness that they have to offer. When your relationships are healthy, and your skin is clear, and your hair is growing, and you’re eating good food BE HAPPY ABOUT IT. When you get a new job or a raise, or when you finally launch your business, or get engaged, or have a baby. Celebrate! When did we learn to be more comfortable with discomfort than times of ease?

Lately, I’ve been really really busy, but I’ve also been really, really happy. And I’m going to choose to revel in this state as long as it lasts. And when disappointment comes knocking, as it often does, I won’t be too moved by that because, remember, contentment. And I’ll strive for joy again.

There’s a song called Hills & Valleys that I like and it says, “In the mountains I will bow my life to the one who set me there. In the valley, I will lift my eyes to the one who sees me there. When I’m standing on the mountain I didn’t get there on my own, When I’m walking through the valley I know I am not alone.” What does this mean? When things are great, I am grateful, when things aren’t great, I am grateful THAT is contentment. Celebrate the highs because unfortunately they don’t last forever and be patient and hopeful during the lows, because they don’t last forever either.
