Earth-Friendly Brands to Shop This Earth Day & Always

Written by Kindra Moné

Every day is Earth Day around here, but this day is a great opportunity for us to take a look at our consuming habits and see how they align with caring for our planet.

From our fashion decisions to the products we put on our skin, everything that we do has an impact on the Earth. Here are a few brands that are doing their part to sustainably produce products that help us reduce our footprint without sacrificing quality.

Graydon Skincare

You can feel great about every single product that Graydon Skincare creates. The serums are housed in recyclable glass bottles, and other products are made with 50% post-consumer plastic. They also have refill options available, and the products are effective, cruelty-free, and made with clean ingredients.

Face Halo

It’s time to ditch your makeup wipes! Sure, they are convenient, but they are also designed to end up in the trash. Opt for the reusable Face Halo pads instead. They are easy to use, and they do a fantastic job of removing your makeup while offering gentle exfoliation.

Once your makeup is removed, cleanse your Face Halo pad with soap and warm water and allow it to air dry to be ready for your next use. Toss it in the washing machine about once every week or so (depending on how often you use it), and be sure to dry it on a gentle setting for longevity. They can withstand washing up to 200 times!

Crystal

If you’re like me, you’ve been hesitant to use natural deodorants because they often don’t work. That’s not the case with Crystal! It kept me odor-free during a week in Mexico, and it also gave me peace of mind knowing that it is aluminum-free and baking soda free. It was non-irritating, and the deodorant is top-rated by The Clean Label Project for best-in-class ingredients.

TO112

Lately, I have been obsessed with the TO112 Bamboo Hair Wrap. I made the switch to microfiber towels a while ago to prevent frizzing my curly hair, but microfiber is made of plastic and not the friendliest option for the planet. This towel cuts drying time and reduces frizz, but it’s made entirely of bamboo fiber, which is a sustainable resource.

Plus, TO112 donates proceeds from their best-selling products to water.org to help provide safe water to all. Check out their entire clean haircare line.

Elegant Tees

Sometimes, we forget that caring for the planet also includes caring for its inhabitants—including people! Elegant Tees does just that. Each piece is sustainably made in small batches in Nepal, providing fair wages and care for the local women that the brand employs. Not to mention, each piece feels so soft and good on the body.

LYS Beauty

The beauty industry is responsible for tons of plastic in our landfills, but LYS beauty is on a mission to change that. Not only are all of their products clean, vegan, and cruelty-free, but they are also recyclable and made with post-consumer materials. Plus, the brand is super affordable with each item ringing in at less than $30.

None of us are perfect in our quest for sustainability, but I am doing my best to make small decisions each day that will have a more positive impact on our Earth. I hope that these suggestions help!
